The World T20 that was scheduled to take place in Australia later this year has now been postponed due ot the COVID-19 outburst. The World T20 in 2021 is though slated to take place in India but if Australia hosts the event then the tickets bought by the fans will be valid.
But if the tournament is shifted to 2022, then the fans would get the refund, the ICC stated in a FAQ on their website.
“If Australia hosts in 2022, for tickets already bought a full refund will be processed automatically,” ICC stated in a series of FAQs.
The World T20 this year was already under dark clouds after the pandemic. The postponed dats of the World T20 has now given the BCCI space to hold the IPL.
As per the reports, the IPL is likely to be played in UAE between September 26 to November 6. The COVID-19 outburst in the world had forced the board to postpone the cash-rich league for an indefinite time.
“It’s the only likely option for the BCCI now. It is 80 per cent certain that this will be the schedule,” sources close to the development informed Sportskeeda.
Earlier, the BCCI had also planned to host a training camp for the centrally contracted players in UAE.
Mumbai Indians are the defending champions. The MI franchise is the most successful team who have won the title four times, while CSK have won it thrice.
