Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has earned a good name for himself in a short span of time. From interntaional cricket to T20 leagues around the globe, he has become a well-known face from the Afghan team.
The leggie recently made a blunt statement and said that he won’t get married untill Afghanistan lifts the World Cup. “I will get engaged & married once Afghanistan wins the cricket world cup,” said Rashid in an interview with Azadi Radio.
Well, that is surely a big statement but the confidence that he has is surely impressive. Rashid is the top-ranked T20I bowler presently and plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
Afghanistan made an appearance in the 2019 World Cup but had a dismal run as they failed to win any of the contests.
Rashid himself has represented Afghanistan in 71 ODIS, 48 T20Is and 4 Tests till now. In ODIs, the spinner has scalped 133 wickets while in the T20Is and Tests, he has 89 and 23 wickets respectively.
Other than Afghanistan and SRH, he has played for ACB Development Squad, Adelaide Strikers, Afghanistan Under-19s, Afghanistan XI, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Band-e-Amir Region, Boost Defenders, Boost Defenders, Comilla Victorians, Durban Heat, Guyana Amazon Warriors, ICC World XI, Kabul, Kabul Eagles, Maratha Arabians, Mis Ainak Region, Nangarhar Leopards, Quetta Gladiators, Speen Ghar Region, Sussex, Sussex 2nd XI.
While he is pretty accurate with his bowling, Rashid is also handy with the bat. He has a Test half-century to his name while has crossed the 50-run mark four times in ODI cricket.
