A lot has been said about MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian team. While some of the players think that the wicket-keeper batsman has played his last game for the country, some believe that he still have the potential to be a part of the side.
If former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra is to be believed, then Dhoni has “happily” played his last game. “As far as MS Dhoni’s international carrier I don’t think this IPL has anything to do with it. I think he has played his last game for India happily,” Nehra said on the Cricket Connected Show on Star Sports.
Nehra has been a vital part of the team that won the ICC World Cup in 2011 under Dhoni’s captaincy.
Earlier, former India opener Gautam Gambhir had backed his former captain and said that if he is fit and in-form, the aggressive batsman can still be picked in the Indian side.
Gambhir has been part of the Indian setup during the World T20 in 2007 and the ICC World Cup in 2011 led by Dhoni.
MS hasn’t played a single match since India’s exclusion from the World Cup 2019. He last donned the Indian jersey in the semi-final of the WC 2019 against New Zealand that India lost.
