MS Dhoni will be spending a lot more time with the Territorial Army now that he has retired, said friend and business partner Arun Pandey on Sunday while talking to PTI.

“Since August 15 is a special day for the Army, he must have thought on those lines. The T20 World Cup postponement was surely a factor as he planned for it,” he said.

Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army.

Earlier, Dhoni was handed over duties like patrolling, guard and post duty in Kashmir. In a statement, the Indian Army said,”Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 TA Battalion (Para) for being with the Battalion from 31 Jul-15 Aug 19.”

Dhoni became a qualified paratrooper after having completed five parachute training jumps in the Agra training camp in 2015.

According to some reports, Dhoni would be coming soon with a series in which he will narrate stories of the awarding officers of the army. StudioNext will soon narrate the story of army officers in collaboration with Dhoni.

The TV series will tell personal stories of military officers as Dhoni wants to bring the brave soldiers serving the country through their shows to the headlines.

At present, the script of this series is being prepared and shooting will be started soon.
