Former South Africa batsman Hashim Amla has joined as a batting consultant with Cape Town Blitz, the Mzansi Super League (MSL) team. The second season of MSL starts on November 8, where Cape Town will face Jozi Stars in the first match.

According to the report of the website Cricinfo, Amla will stay with the team till November 25 and by then the team would have played six of its 10 group matches. Amla retired from all formats of the game in August this year.

Amla brings a wealth of experience to Ashwell Prince’s side as it looks to go one better in 2019 after finishing runner-up last season.

The 36-year-old played 124 Tests, 181 ODIs and 44 International T20 matches in his career. He scored 9282 in Tests, 8113 in ODIs and 1277 runs in T20s.

Amla will be available from November 25 after his stint in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, where he will feature as an icon player and captain the Karnataka Tuskers.
