India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand away from home. Pandya underwent back surgery last year and has been observed for quite some time.

The right-handed all-rounder failed to prove his fitness and will now continue his rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Earlier, Hardik was slated to play with India A against New Zealand A but he was rested from the squad for the same reason and Vijay Shankar led the side in his absence.
