R. Ashwin.

India’s leading spinner R. Ashwin has turned 30. Ashwin began his career as an opener but it was the fate that was deciding his destiny and not the man himself.

Tamil Nadu’s state team requirement of a spinner etched Ashwin in that particular line up for the season. He was soon recognised in the Indian Premier league and didn’t take much time to don Indian jersey.

His tally of 22 wickets in first three Tests and a debut bundle of 9 wickets scripted his name in record books for India.

He now is the fastest Indian bowler to reach 100 Test wickets along with 4 swashbuckling hundreds in the longest format and more importantly the shrewd and skillfull all-rounder is sitting at the helm of world rankings.
