Former India captain Kapil Devi celebrated his 61st birthday on Monday. The right-handed all-rounder led India to their first-ever World Cup triumph in 1983 after beating West Indies in the finals.

Kapil played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs for India. He notched up 5248 runs and scalped 434 wickets in the longer format while scored 3783 runs and picked 253 wickets in ODIs. Wishes poured from all around for the World Cup-winning skipper.

Kapil Dev’s highest individual score of 175* in ODIs came against Zimbabwe during the 1983 World Cup. Interestingly, this match doesn’t really have any video recordings.
