Former India opener Gautam Gambhir will celebrate his 38th birthday on Monday. Gambhir had been an integral part of the Indian team and played some important knocks at crucial stages.
Two of his most popular innings came in 2007 World T20 final against Pakistan and 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka respectively.
India batted first during the final of the World T20 and Gambhir top-scored with 75 off just 54 deliveries. India scored 157/5 in 20 overs and later bowled out Pakistan for 152 to win the match by 5 runs.
In 2011, India were handed a target of 275 runs by the Lankan lions in Mumbai. The hosts lost Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar early in the chase. But Gambhir first steadied the ship with young Virat Kohli and then joined hands with skipper MS Dhoni to take India home. Gambhir scored 97.
India lifted the World Cup after 28 years.
