Former India captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly turned 48 on Wednesday. The former left-handed batsman is one of those Indian cricketers who scored a Test hundred on debut. Ganguly achieved the feat against England back in 1996.

He has been one of the finest Indian captains in the modern era. India ended as runners-up in the Knockout Trophy 2000 and World Cup 2003 under his captaincy while won the NatWest Trophy in 2002. Apart from this, Ganguly led India to their first-ever Test series win on the Pakistan soil.

The cricket fraternity wished the former player on his special day.
