Brendon McCullum who turned 38 on Friday has been known for his aggressive approach with the bat and he unfolded one of the finest batting displays in Bengaluru in the inaugural Indian Premier League season against Royal Challengers Bangalore for Kolkata Knight Riders.
McCullum hammered RCB bowlers all around the park to score 158* off 73 deliveries as KKR put 222/3 in 20 overs. Later KKR wrapped up RCB’s innings for 82 to win the match by 140 runs.
McCullum had led New Zealand in the 2015 World Cup. The Kiwis ended as runners up in the prestigious tournament for the first time in the history.
The right-handed batsman also holds the record for the fastest ton in Test cricket that came in 54 balls against Australia. Apart from this, McCullum notched a triple hundred against India at home.
