Former captain of the physically challenged India cricket team Dinesh Sain has been forced to apply for a peon’s job at the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA).

Sain who was inflicted with polio since birth has played nine matches for India and has even led the side between 2015 and 2019. Sain is looking for a steady job now to support his family- wife and one-year-old toddler.

“I am 35 and currently in first year of my graduation. After 12th standard, I only played cricket, represented India but I have no money now. There is one vacancy for a peon’s post in NADA,” Sain told PTI from his Sonepat home.

Sain also revealed that the age limit to apply for the job for the PH is 35 and this is his last chance to get a government job.

He had also accompained the team during their 2019 tour of England. He wasn’t a part of the squad but was there to guide them. Sain says that there is a lot of talent in the country.

“I will not play cricket anymore but I need to feed my family and I want to remain attached to the game,” he said.
