Former Indian Test cricketer Vinod Kambli has become a victim of cyber fraud. A Mumbai Police official said that cyber fraudsters duped Vinod Kambli of one lakh rupees, after which a case was registered at the Bandra police station.

The official said that a person posing as a representative of a well-known bank called Kambli and shared a link with him on the pretext of KYC update, which he later downloaded, resulting in fraudulently deducting Rs. Lakhs of rupees were withdrawn.

Kambli said, “After receiving the alert on the phone, I immediately contacted the customer care of my bank, after which they blocked my account. Later I complained to the police and the police got my money back. I am thankful to the police.”
