India B started the the Deodhar trophy tournament on a positive note after thumping India A by 108 runs in Ranchi on Thursday. Batting first, India B posted a total of 302/6 in 50 overs. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad hammered a ton while Baba Aparajith too notched up a hundred in the match.
For India A, Jaydev Unadkat and R Ashwin scapled a coupl of wickets each. In reply, Hanuma Vihari’s B side never looked in control of the chase and were bowled out for 194 in the 48th over. Vihari top-scored with 59. Roosh Kalaria bagged a three-for in the innings.
India A will now face India C on Friday at the same venue.
