Former India captain MS Dhoni will be soon back in action as he has begun with his preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season with the CSK side.
Dhoni has credited the franchise for helping him improve as a cricketer and as a human being. “…CSK has helped me improve in everything, whether it was being a human being or being a cricketer,” Dhoni was quoted as saying on a Star Sports show.
Dhoni is going to return on the cricket field after a long gap. He last played a match for India in the World Cup 2019 against New Zealand where the Virat Kohli-led side lost in the semis.
He was also omitted from the BCCI’s list of centrally contracted players.
The official social media account of CSK posted a video of Dhoni taking guard in the nets that was captioned, “Verified
A grand waltz to take guard! #StartTheWhistles #SuperTraining ????????”
Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay, Piyush Chawla, R Sai Kishore were some of the players who took part in the training session. The CSK will begin their tournament against Mumbai in the opener at Wankhede Stadium on March 29.
Chennai Super Kings have lifted the trophy three times. They even picked some big players in the auctions as well. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood made a cut into the side while England’s left-arm medium pacer Sam Curran and young spinner R Sai Kishore.
