India all-rounder Hardik Pandya alongwith batsman KL Rahul was once involved in a major controversy after he made some bold statements in the show ‘Koffee with Karan‘.
In a recent chat with Dinesh Karthik during his Instagram live session, Hardik said, “One coffee I had, mere ko bahut mehengi padi vo (proved to be too costly for me).”
Pandya and Rahul were slapped with a fine of Rs 20 lakh each by the BCCI then.
Earlier, Pandya made his return back to the Indian team after undergoing a back surgery for the South Africa ODIs that were eventually canceled due to the COVID-19 outburst.

India had earlier toured New Zealand where they won the T20I series but lost the Tests and ODIs. Pandya missed the New Zealand tour as well. Pandya had been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand away from home.

He was slated to play with India A against New Zealand A but he was rested from the squad for the same reason and Vijay Shankar led the side in his absence.
