Rajkumar Sharma also expressed surprise at Sourav Ganguly’s statement on change of captaincy in an interview to KhelNiti Podcast saying, “I recently read Sourav Ganguly’s statements that he did not ask Kohli to step down from T20 captaincy. I don’t remember anything like that. This statement came as a surprise to me. There are different statements going around.” In fact, the BCCI President, while giving a statement on the captaincy of the ODI team, said that the board had requested Kohli not to step down as the T20 captain.

At the same time, Rajkumar Sharma, while speaking on the decision of the selection committee, said, “The selection committee does not give any reason behind the decision. We don’t know what the management or BCCI or selectors want. There is no explanation, no transparency.”
