Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has put his weight behind England cricketer Ben Stokes and rated him as the best all-rounder while believes that Hardik Pandya is among the top ten.
“Ben Stokes has become No. 1 all-rounder in the world by winning matches for England,” he tweeted after Stokes’ innings against West Indies.
“Unfortunately, Hardik Pandya is not in top 10 in any format of the game for India. He has the potential, there is no doubt about it. If he has that calibre of an allrounder who can win matches for India, Indian cricket team will be invincible. The Indian cricket team is way better than the rest in the world,” he later said.
Earlier, former India opener Gautam Gambhir has put his weight behind Stokes and said that there is no better all-rounder in the world than him.
Stokes scored 176 in the first innings of the seocnd match and then notched up a brisk 57-ball 78* to put his team in front. The right-arm bowler also scalped three wickets in the match helping his side to win the match by 113 runs and square the series.
In the third and deciding game, England took a massive first-innings lead and eventually handed a target of 399 runs to the West Indies side.
