Former India Under-19 captain Avi Barot has died at the age of 29 due to cardiac arrest. The Saurashtra Cricket Board condoled his demise. He scored a century while batting in T20 cricket. The Saurashtra team won the Ranji Trophy in the 2019-20 season and Avi Barot was also part of that team.
SCA President Jaydev Shah expressed grief over the passing away of Avi Barot, saying, “Everyone in the Saurashtra Cricket Association is shocked and saddened by the untimely demise of Avi Barot, one of Saurashtra’s illustrious cricketers. He passed away on the evening of 15 October 2021 due to a heart attack.”

Let us tell you that Avi Barot had captained the India Under-19 team in the year 2011 and he received Cricketer of the Year award in the Under-19 category in the same year. In his short domestic cricket, Barot scored 1547 runs in 38 first-class matches with the help of 1 century and 9 half-centuries. At the same time, he played 38 List A matches and 20 domestic T20 matches, in which he scored 1030 runs and 717 runs respectively.
