Australia completed a whitewash win in the three-match series against New Zealand after beating the visitors by 279 runs in Sydney on Monday.

Chasing a mammoth 416, New Zealand were bundled out for a mere 136 in the second innings. Colin de Grandhomme top-scored with 52 Nathan Lyon scalped another fifer for Australia.

Earlier, riding on David Warner’s 24th Test, the hosts had scored 217/2 before making the declaration.
