The Coronavirus outbreak has hit another cricketing event. The ODI series between Australia and New Zealand that was slated to begin from Friday will now be played in front of empty stands while the women’s tour of South Africa has been postponed.

The women’s team was set to depart in the weekend to play three ODIs and three T20Is between March 22 and April 4.

Earlier, the BCCI also decided to play the remaining two ODIs between India and South Africa in front of empty stands while the Indian Premier League (IPL) might also see something similar. The IPL begins on March 29 when Mumbai Indians take on Chennai Super Kings.

The Corona Virus outburst has been rapidly increasing. After China, Italy became the second country that has been locked down. Apart from Italy, Spain, Germany, US, UK, Iran, South Korea and some more countries have been suffering from the outburst.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared COVID-19 disease to be a pandemic.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also postponed the two T20Is between Asia XI and Africa XI.
