England all-rounder Ben Stokes guided his side to an emphatic win over Australia in the third Test by one wicket in Leeds to level the series. Chasing 359, England lost early wickets but Joe Root and Joe Denly put a partnership of 126 for the third wicket.
Both the batsmen struck individual half-centuries. The home side later lost their way after quick fall of wickets Ben Stokes held his nerves till the end as he remained unbeaten at 135.
Earlier, Australia Marnus Labuschagne’s 80 to take the lead in the second innings.
England had a dismal run with the bat in the first innings after being bowled out for 67 in reply to Australia’s 179. The five-match series is now leveled at 1-1 with the fourth match scheduled to begin from September 4 in Manchester.
