England leveled the Ashes series after beating Australia by 135 runs in London in the fifth and final Test. Matthew Wade’s 117 went in vain after his side was bundled out for 263 in pursuit of 399.

Earlier, England after batting first scored 294, thanks to individual half-centuries from Joe Root and Jos Buttler and later bowled out the visitors for 225. Fast bowler Jofra Archer picked a six-wicket haul in the first innings.

England then posted 329 in the second innings and the bowling unit did the rest of the job for them. Stuart Broad and Jack Leach shared eight scalped between them while skipper Root picked two including an important wicket of Wade.

Australia though retained the Ashes despite the series finishing at 2-2.
