India started off the new campaign with some scintillating performance in Indore on Tuesday after beating Sri Lanka by 7 wickets to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. The first match was washed away due to rain.

Virat Kohli who won the toss asked Sri Lanka to bat first. The pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini ripped apart the Lankan batting line up. Thakur scalped three wickets while Saini picked a couple and Bumrah who made a comeback in the side got one wicket.

Wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera top-scored for Sri Lanka with 34 off 28.

In reply, India started off well with openers KL Rahul (45) and Shikhar Dhawan (32) put 71 on the board for the first wicket.
