Afghanistan thumped Zimbabwe in the second match of the tri-series by 28 to hand them another defeat runs on the trot in Dhaka on Saturday. Batting first, Afghanistan piled a total of 197/5 in 20 overs after Najibullah Zadran’s 30-ball 69.

Later, Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals during the chase and were left tottering at 96/6 when Neville Madziva and Regis Chakabva resisted against Afghanistan bowling attack. Regis remained unbeaten at 42 but this was never enough to take his side over the line.

Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by 3 wickets on Friday. Afghanistan will now play hosts Bangladesh on Sunday in Dhaka.
