Former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers has hinted of making a comeback to international cricket for the upcoming World T20 later this year.
“I would love to. I’ve been talking to ‘Bouch’ (new South Africa coach Mark Boucher), (new director of cricket) Graeme Smith and (captain) Faf (du Plessis) back home, we’re all keen to make it happen. There’s a lot that needs to happen before that becomes reality,” de Villiers was quoted as saying by Cricket.com.au.
De Villiers joined the Brisbane squad on Sunday and notched up 40 off 32 for them against Adelaide Strikers. Chasing 111, Brisbane rode on de Villiers and Matt Renshaw’s batting to go over the line in the 16th over by 7 wickets. Earlier, James Pattinson scalped a fifer as Adelaide were bundled out for 110 in 19 overs.
