Virat Kohli’s troops begin their overseas quest in Auckland against New Zealand on Friday. India have been in some brilliant form in the white-ball cricket. They defeated Australia 2-1 in the three-match ODI series at home recently and would be looking to continue the form in T20Is against the Kiwis as well. Here are the five Indian players to watch out for in this first T20I.

Rohit Sharma

The Indian opener and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma is one of the finest batsmen in the world in the present setup. Sharma would be one of the key players for the touring team. The aggressive right-handed batsman scored a hundred in the third ODI against Australia in Bangalore helping India win the series.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul’s presence in the side or we can say MS Dhoni’s absence and Rishabh Pant’s dismal work with the gloves with the behind has certainly changed the picture of the playing XI. From being in and out, Rahul is being seen as a regular wicket-keeper batsman and an opener with Rohit in the T20Is. Captain Virat Kohli too cleared the air on Rahul’s batting position, for now, stating that he is the first-choice opener in T20Is while would bat at number 5 in the ODIs.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is probably the biggest name in the cricketing world at present. The chase master showed his class against Australia in the final ODI and is back in good form.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback in the Indian team after sustaining an injury last year. The right-handed bowler took some time to get his rhythm back but he is still as lethal as he had been. Bumrah’s yorkers are still his stock deliveries and he would play a major role in India’s success in New Zealand.

Yuzvendra Chahal

The leggie is someone who has the ability to provide wickets at regular intervals. He would play an important role in picking wickets and giving the team breakthroughs at crucial stages.

If these players perform their individual roles, India would definitely go up in the series.
