Former India batsman Suresh Raina has finally broken silence after pulling out of the IPL 2020. Raina in a tweet has said that what happened with his family is brutal.

“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support,” the tweet read.

Raina’s uncle was killed in a late night attack while his aunt is in critical condition.

As per reports, Raina had ledt the IPL after a rift over hotel room. N Srinivasan, chief of India Cements which owns CSK said that success gets into your heads’.

“Cricketers are like prima donnas … like the temperamental actors of the olden days. Chennai Super Kings have always been like a family and all seniors players have learnt to co-exist,” said Srinivasan.

Raina hung his boots from international cricket on August 15, 2020 along with MS Dhoni. The two cricketers made the announcement on social media.

Raina has been a consistent performer for CSK franchise accumulating 4527 runs from 164 IPL games and is the second-highest run-getter in the cash-rich league with 5368 runs to his name.
