It was a dominating display as Royal Challengers Bangalore thrashed KKR by a massive margin in the 28 th match of IPL 2020 played at Sharjah Cricket Ground, Sharjah on Monday.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. Devdutt Paddikal and Aaron Finch got the team off to a decent start with lovely strokes putting pressure on KKR bowlers.

AB de Villiers took few balls to settle while Kohli struggled to time the ball. At the end of the second timeout, RCB scored 111 for 2.

AB de Villiers just blasted away KKR bowling with big shots against Pat Cummins, Andre Russell. It was amazing hitting by de Villiers who looked in sublime touch and completed his fifty off 23 balls. On the other hand, Kohli gave strike to the inform man. In the last 5 overs, RCB made 83 runs and helped them to post 194 for 2 in 20 overs. The experienced duo put on unbeaten 100 runs for the 3rd wicket. De Villiers remained not out on 73 off 33 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes while Kohli faced 28 scoring 33 runs with only 1 boundary.

Skipper Kohli hailed the South African’s knock. “At the toss the pitch didn’t have the usual Sharjah sheen. Knew the wicket was going to get slower and slower. Barring one superhuman, everyone struggled on that pitch,” Kohli said at the post match presentation.

“Was unbelievable. I thought I had a few balls under my belt so I’ll start striking. But he came in and hit his third ball nicely. On a pitch like that, only AB can do that. It was a special knock. We got 195 (194 actually) purely because of the genius of that man,” said RCB skipper, heaping praise on de Villiers.

Kohli further added that he is pretty happy with bowling performance of the team. “They’ve (KKR) played good cricket in this IPL. Coming here, it was important to get the right start. Great to see individuals step up when the team requires. Bowling unit, with Morris coming in, looks all the more potent. Very happy”.
