The Indian Premier League’s 2020 edition is set to take place in UAE. The Emirates Cricket Board is expecting to fill atleast 30-50 percent of the stadiums with the spectators and fans.

The tournament will begin from September 18 and the final takes place on November 8. “We will definitely want our people to experience this prestigious event but it is totally the government’s decision. For most events here, the number ranges from thirty to 50 percent capacity, we are looking at a similar number.”

The players will have to reach UAE 25 days prior to the start of the league while they will also go under 14-day quarantine before they can step on the field.

MI is the most successful team in the IPL as it has lifted the trophy four times while CSK has won it thrice. Apart from them Kolkata Knight Riders has been crowned as the winner twice while Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have won it once.

This won’t be the first time when IPL would be taking place outside the country. In 2009, the IPL was shifted to South Africa while in 2014, the first half of the tournament took place in UAE because of the general elections.
