Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai indians clinched their fifth IPL title on Tuesday after beating Delhi Capitals in the final but DC did have some exciting performances throughout the tournament. From Shikhar Dhawan’s mind-blowing tons to Mi’s new fire power Ishan Kishan, here we take a look at five batsmen from the two teams who stanped authority.
The first on the list is DC’s opener and former MI player Shikhar Dhawan who etched his name in the record book after becoming the first player to hit two centuries on the trot in IPL. The left-handed batsman ended up as the second-highest run-getter in IPL 2020 with 618 runs in 17 matches.
The number two in the list is DC captain Shreyas Iyer who hammered 519 runs in 17 matches.
Ishan Kishan has been known for his aggressive batting but his performances in the tournament showed that he is someone on whom the team can rely upon. In captan Rohit Sharma’s absence, Ishan took the responsibility of opening the innings whule after Sharma’s return, he played a massive role to hold the middle-order strong.
Kishan scored 516 runs in 14 matches.
Quinton de Kock
Ishanis followed by his MI opening partner Quinton de Kock who notched up 503 runs in 16 matches.
This is probably the name that no one can really forget. Apart from Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav had been one player for MI who played a massive role in their successful campaign. While he played some crucial knocks, Yadav notched up 480 runs in 16 matches.
