Former India batsman Suresh Raina pulled out of the IPL 2020. There were a lot of speculations being made about Raina’s decision. In fact, one of these suggested that the left-handed batsman had returned back to India after having a rift over a hotel room while the other reason that was being expected was the unfortunate incident that took place in his family.
“He (N Srinivasan) is like a father figure to me and he’s always stood by me and is close to my heart. He treats me like his younger son and am sure a lot of what he said was taken out of context. Ek baap apne bacche ko daant sakta hai(A father can scold his son). He didn’t know the real reasons for me leaving when he gave those comments. Now he’s been informed about them and he even sent me a message thereafter. We’ve chatted about it and both CSK and I just want to get over with it,” Raina said in a chat with Cricbuzz.
Raina’s uncle and cousin passed away while his aunt was in a critical condition after a brutal attack at their Pathankot residence.
Raina announced his retirement from international cricket alongwtih MS Dhoni on August 15. The two cricketers made the announcement on social media.
