Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia has said that the IPL 2020 edition is going to be the most-watched.

“I would be surprised if this IPL is not the most-watched ever. I am talking worldwide and not only India,” he said.

Wadia also stated that regular testing of COVID-19 should be done so as to keep a check on the disease. “UAE also has a very high testing rate (472,575 per million) and they have all the technology at their disposal. The BCCI will need the help of the local government in ensuring adequate testing is done,” Wadia said.

The IPL 2020 was earlier shifted to UAE and would now take place between September and November, confirmed the chairman Brijesh Patel.

This is not the first time that the tournament will be going out of India. In 2009, IPL took place in South Africa while in 2014, half of it was held in the UAE.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were slated to play the opening game at Wankhede stadium earlier. The new schedule of the IPL is yet to come.

MI is the most successful team in the IPL having won the title four times while CSK is at the second position with three trophies to their name.

Kolkata Knight Riders have lifted the cup twice while Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Deccan Chargers have won it once.
