Kings XI Punjab batsman Mayank Agarwal became the second batsman from Punjab franchise and in the IPL 2020 to score a ton. The right-handed batsman notched up his hundred in just 45 balls against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah.
He was eventually dismissed for 106 off 50. Apart from Mayank, KL Rahul continued his sublime form and scored 69 off 54 as the two compiled a partnership of 183 runs for the frist wicket. Mayank’s innings included 7 sixes in and ten boundaries.
Glenn Maxwell remained unbeaten at 13 in 9 bals while Nicholas Pooran smacked 8-ball 25* as KXIP posted 223/2 in 20 overs.
“It feels amazing (to get the hundred), but more importantly we got good runs. You got to give yourself some time, because it’s not as easy as it seems. It was holding up a bit, just one of those days when you’re striking well and you keep going. I’m a lot more calmer than before, backing myself and giving myself a lot of time. Lots of hard work in the nets, it’s paying off now,” Mayank said after his knock.
