The IPL 2020 is set to take place in UAE from Spetember 19. The cash-rich league has been moved out of the country due to the pandemic. While the league is slated to happen, there are certain measures that need to be taken.
As per a BCCI official, all the players and staff members would be tested for the disease. “Following their arrival in the UAE, the players and support staff will have to return at least three negative tests during a week’s quarantine and if they are negative, they can enter the bio-bubble and start training.”
“All overseas players and support staff also need to undergo two COVID-19 RT-PCR tests before flying in to the UAE and can only fly if the tests are negative. If not, then the same 14-day quarantine period and two negative tests to be able to fly to the UAE,” said the official.
MI is the most successful team in the IPL as it has lifted the trophy four times while CSK has won it thrice. Apart from them Kolkata Knight Riders has been crowned as the winner twice while Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have won it once.
This won’t be the first time when IPL would be taking place outside the country. In 2009, the IPL was shifted to South Africa while in 2014, the first half of the tournament took place in UAE because of the general elections.
