Dubai: Royal Challengers Bangalore young batsman Devdutt Padikkal says he feels as good about his game as he used to do before the Covid-19 lockdown.

Padikkal will play for RCB. His team will play their opening league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 21 September. Padikkal told RCB’s YouTube channel – as we are slowly returning. We are having a good session and we are feeling well.

The Karnataka left-hander became the talk of the top-scoring in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The 20-year-old Padikkal scored an average of 64 in 12 matches with a strike rate of over 175 which included one century and five half-centuries.

Padikkal, known for his big hits in domestic cricket, learned that he impressed both captain, Virat Kohli and coach Mike Hannon. He said – legs are moving fast, reactions are getting faster. We are making goals of what we are doing and what we want to achieve.

However, Padikkal also raised a concern during this time. He said- The weather will be hot in the United Arab Emirates. We are getting used to the weather. We have some sessions going on to reduce the speed of the season. We can work on fitness and it will help us a lot.
