Former India batsman Suresh Raina while talking to Cricbuzz had said that N.Srinivasan is like a father figure to him and he hasn’t pulled out of the IPL 2020 due to any rift but because of the unfortunate incident that took place in his family.
Srinivasan has said, “I have treated him like one (son). The reason for CSK’s success in IPL over the years is because of the fact that franchise never poked its nose into cricketing matters. India Cements is running cricket since ’60s. I will always remain like that,” Srinivasan told PTI.
Raina’s uncle and cousin passed away while his aunt was in a critical condition after a brutal attack at their Pathankot residence.
Raina announced his retirement from international cricket along with MS Dhoni on August 15. The two cricketers made the announcement on social media.
