Fantasy cricket platform Dream 11 has bagged the title sponsorship for IPL 2020 with a winning bid of INR 222 crore, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to Cricbuzz.

Earlier, After the exit of VIVO from IPL sponsorship this year, a number of big names have come up for the race. Patanjali and Unacademy were the latest addition after Amazon, Byjus’s, Jio and Coca Cola were in the race. Now Tata Sons will also bid for the sponsorship.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited bids for the title sponsorship for the IPL 2020. The board had earlier asked the Chinese company VIVO to pull out of the sponsorship amid the tension between the two countries at the LAC.

Amazon was the front-runner as per some reports while Jio, and soft drink giant Coca Cola were also in the race. Byjus who is Team India’s jersey sponsor was also in the consideration.

The board had earlier officially said that the IPL and the Chinese sponsor VIVO are not aligning for this year’s edition. The company was in talks with the BCCI for an “amicable separation” amid rising Sino-India diplomatic tensions.

The BCCI has been facing a lot of heat on social media ever since they have announced Chinese company VIVO to continue as sponsors for the IPL 2020.
