Delhi Capitals have signed fast bowler Anrich Nortje as a replacement for Chris Woakes ahead of IPL 2020.

Woakes had earlier pulled out of the tournament to keep himself fresh for the English summer. “I am excited to join the Delhi Capitals, a team that was the talk of the tournament last season,” Nortje said.

There have been a number of transfers. Big names like R Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane have been traded and both the players will now play for Delhi Capitals. Here’s a look at the full list.

Ravichandran Ashwin – Kings XI Punjab to Delhi Capitals (Rs 7.1 crore)

Ankit Rajpoot – Kings XI Punjab to Rajasthan Royals

Krishnappa Gowtham – Rajasthan Royals to Kings XI Punjab

Trent Boult – Delhi Capitals to Mumbai Indians

Ajinkya Rahane – Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals

Mayank Markande – Delhi Capitals to Rajasthan Royals (The leg-spinner was first traded to DC from Mumbai Indians)

Rahul Tewatia – Delhi Capitals to Rajasthan Royals

Dhawal Kulkarni – Rajasthan Royals to Mumbai Indians

Sherfane Rutherford – Delhi Capitals to Mumbai Indians (Rs 6.2 crore)

Jagadeesha Suchith – Delhi Capitals to Kings XI Punjab (Rs 20 lakh)

Siddhesh Lad – Mumbai Indians to Kolkata Knight Riders

Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka said, ‘The biggest concern for us was the operation of Jason Behrendorff. We needed to replace him with a new player. He performed brilliantly for us last year. When Delhi decided to release Bolt, we felt that he is a world-class bowler which is very dangerous for the opposition team in our circumstances. Especially when he bowls with Bumrah. ‘

Mumbai had to leave spin bowler Mayank Markande. Jayawardene said, ‘Obviously we let Mayank go because we thought he could play a few matches for Delhi and then we got a chance to get Sherfen Rutherford, who we consider a great talent.’

Jayawardene said, “Dhawal Kulkarni is an experienced bowler. We needed to add him to the team. They are from Mumbai only. So we had no hesitation in including him in the team. We have strengthened some areas which were important to us and now we are excited about the auction.”
