India announced the 15-man team for South Africa ODIs scheduled to begin from March 12 in Dharamsala. With Rohit Sharma out of contention due to a calf injury, Prithvi Shaw has been called in the side.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya who were out of action due to injuries are back in the Indian team.

The team will be led by Virat Kohli while the first-choice openers would be Dhawan and Kl Rahul. Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja might form the middle-order.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Navdeep Saini and Kuldeep Yadav form the bowling department. Right-handed batsman Shubman Gill has also made a place for himself in this lineup.

If Rahul keeps the wickets as he did in New Zealand in the limited-overs fixtures, Gill might get a place in the XI in the middle-order.

India won the T20I series in New Zealand but then lost the ODIs and the Tests. The Virat Kohli-led team would now look to turn tables for themselves in the ODIs at home.

All-rounder Pandya who has returned to the scene showed a glimpse of his fitness during the DY Patil T20 tournament where he smacked a couple of tons on the trot.

Squad: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli (C), KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill.
