England wicket-keeper batsman Jose Buttler was seen struggling in the crucial Test against the Windies. Now former England fast bowler Darren Gough has become tough on him. He has clearly said that if Butler could not perform well in the remaining two matches against the West Indies, then his place in the team is in danger.
Buttler has failed to score a half-century in the last 12 innings. He dripped Jermaine Blackwood’s catch in the first Test against the West Indies. Blackwood’s innings of 95 runs helped the West Indies win by four wickets.
Gough, who took 229 wickets in 58 Tests for England, said- I believe Butler has two more Test matches to save his career. Gough said- He is a brilliant talent, many children take inspiration from him. He has every kind of shot. In Test cricket, however, you have to avoid getting out early and are not able to do so.
Jos Buttler gets direct warning – 2 Tests, save career
Gough said England should include Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes in the squad, which was ignored by the caretaker captain Ben Stokes. He said – I think Broad will be in the team. I would love to go to Old Trafford with Broad and Woakes, resting Wood and Anderson. He said – one successive test match after another, in such a situation you can bring Anderson and Woods back in the third match by adopting the rotation policy.
