England captain Joe Root will be back in action in the second Test against West Indies at Old Trafford in Manchester. Root’s return will see Joe Denly’s exit from the side while James Anderson and Mark Wood have also been dropped as England are scheduled to play six Tests in seven weeks.

England are 0-1 down in the three-match series. Chasing 200 runs to win, Jofra Archer bowled with pace and troubled John Campbell. Campbell retried hurt due to ball hit on his toe. Archer dismissed Kraigg Braithwaite which hit the inside edge and hit the stumps. He then dismissed Brooks with a full delivery. Shai Hope smashed 2 lovely boundaries.

Mark Wood replaced Archer and got the wicket of Hope to leave West Indies in trouble at 27 for 3. At lunch, West Indies made 35 for 3 with 165 runs more needed.

The second session saw a much better approach from Chase and Blackwood. Blackwood was lucky but trusted his attacking mood while Chase with played solid defense. Jofra Archer produced a beauty of a bouncer to dismiss Chase. Chase and Blackwood added 73 runs for the 4th wicket.

A brilliant effort by Gabriel and Joseph on the fourth evening helped West Indies comeback into the game. England got a lead of 199. Blackwood 95, Chase 37 was enough to give the visitors a remarkable win.

For his 9-wicket haul, Shannon Gabriel was awarded the man of the match.
