It was a big day for international cricket as it made a return back after almost four months of break due to COVID-19 outburst.

England and West Indies met in Southampton for the first Test match of the three-match series. But the rain played spoilsport as first the toss was delayed and then the match was halted twice.

Though we did have play for sometime where England’s stand-in captain Ben Stokes opted to bat first after winning the toss. West Indies fast bowlers were up for business straight as Shannon Gabriel cleaned up Dominic Sibley for a duck in the second over of the innings.

Rory Burns who opened the innings with Sibley was unbeaten at 20 while Joe Denly at 14. Apart from Gabriel, Kemar Roachbowled 6 overs while Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder bowled 3.4 and 3 overs respectively. Stokes surprised everyone after fast bowler Stuart Broad missed out being in the playing XI.
