England thoroughly dominated the second day’s play against Pakistan in Southampton after the hosts compiled a mammoth total of 583/8 (D). Zak Crawley who completed his ton on Day 1 went on to score his maiden double hundred while Jos Buttler too notched up a century in the process. Crawley scored 267 while Buttler got 152.

Chris Woakes later chipped in with 40 runs while Dom Bess scored an unbeaten 27.

In reply, Pakistan had a dismal start to the proceedings as they were reduced to 24/3 before the stumps. James Anderson scalped all the three wickets on the day as the visiting team lost Shan Masood, Abid Ali and Babar Azam. Captain Azhar Ali is batting at 4.
