England all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss the remaining of the Test series against Pakistan due to familiy reasons. The left-handed batsman will leave UK for new Zealand later in the week.
His father was earlier was hospitalised last December in South Africa during England’s tour, and has since been known to be recuperating in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Stokes will leave the UK later this week and travel to New Zealand. He will miss England’s two Test matches against Pakistan at the Ageas Bowl starting on Thursday 13 August and Friday 21 August.
The England and Wales Cricket Board, along with the Stokes family, requests that all media respects the family’s privacy at this time,” the official statement from the ECB read.
Stokes didn’t really have a good start to his captaincy career after England lost the first Test against West Indies but the cricketer continued with his personal performances.
He scored 43 and 46 in the first Test against West Indies also picked up a four-for in the first innings. He then smakced an important 176 in the first innings of the second Test and later scored a brisk 78* in the second innings.
England eventually won the Test series 2-1 while also took 1-0 lead in the three-match series against Pakistan after beating the visiting team by 3 wickets in Manchester.
