England went 1-0 up in the series aftr beating Australia by 2 runs in the first encounter in Southampton. After winning the toss, Aaron Finch asked the hosts to bat first.
England were off to a brisk start before losing few wickets in quick succession and they were soss reduced to 91/4 with skipper Eoin Morgan back in the hut.
Opener and wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler scored a quick 44 off just 29 while Dawid Malan who came in at number three notched up 66.
England eventually scored 162/7 in 20 overs. Ashton Agar , Kane Richardson and Glenn Maxwell scalped a couple of wickets apiece while Pat Cummings picked up one wicket for Australia.

In reply, Australia started off well as David Warner and Finch scored 98 for the first wicket. Warner went on to score a half-century while Finch got 46. Former captain Steve Smith who came in at number three scored 18 and the right-handed batsman’s dismissal saw a flurry of wickets.
Australia lost four wickets in a span of 9 runs. The visitors didn’t really make a comeback then and lost the match. Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid picked up two wickets each while Mark Wood got one to his name.
