Chase master, run machine, India skipper Virat Kohli is ofter tagged with such nicknames and why not. The right-handed batsman has been instrumental in a number of wins while chasing a target.

One of these instances came in 2016 World t20 against Australia in Mohali when Kohli anchored India to a victory over the Aussies.

Australia after batting first had posted 160/6 in allotted 20 overs with Aaron Finch top-scoring with 43. India didn’t really get a great start to the chase losing three wickets within the first 8 overs.

While Kohli’s concentration was unshakable, he was losing partners at the other end. Yuvraj Singh was the fourth wicket to fall when the team score read 94. Needing 67 in the last 6 overs, Kohli took the matter in his hands and just took on the Australia bowlers with precision.

He scored an unbeaten 82 off 51 and took India over the line. India eventually lost to West Indies in the semi-final to bow out of the tournament and the Caribbean team later lifted the trophy.

This game holds special importance as it was a do or die situation of India and Kohli took the onus on himself to hand his side a super win.
