On 17th June 2014, Stuart Binny wreaked havoc to beat Bangladesh in the 2nd One-day international played at Sher-E- Bangla Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka.

In a rain-curtailed match reduced to 41 overs, Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start for the hosts as Mortaza got Rahane off the very first ball he faced. Taskin Ahmed and Mortaza used the conditions well which helped the pacers.

Taskin Ahmed produced a beauty to dismiss Robin Uthappa. Uthappa and Rayudu added 27 runs for the 2nd wicket. At the end of 8 overs, India scored 26 for 2.

Taskin Ahmed got rid of Rayudu to put India under pressure at 28 for 3. Suresh Raina looked positive with his stroke play while Pujara struggled with his timing. Ahmed made the breakthrough for Bangladesh dismissing Pujara. Pujara and Raina added 27 runs for the 4th wicket. Taskin Ahmed, Mortaza and Al-Amin-Hossain kept on picking wickets at regular intervals. Umesh Yadav scored 17 off 13 balls to go beyond the 100 runs mark. Taskin Ahmed was the pick of bowlers for Bangladesh with
figures of 5 for 28.

Mohit Sharma struck twice to dismiss Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque. Mohammad Mithun came to the crease taking on the Indian bowlers. At the end of 10 overs, Bangladesh scored 33 for 2. Stuart Binny was bought into the attack in the 10th over. He produced a magical delivery in his 2nd over to dismiss Rahim. Binny then dismissed Mohammad Mithun to bring back India into the game.

He produced a magical delivery to get rid of Mahmudullah and then Mortaza. The all-rounder grabbed Nasir Hossain to pick his 5th wicket. It was an amazing performance by Binny who dismissed Al-Amin as India rattled Bangladesh for 58 in 17.4 overs. Stuart finished with figures of 6 for 4 in 4.4 overs. India won the match by 47 runs via D/L method.

For his sensational spell, Stuart Binny was awarded the man of the match. This is best figures by an Indian in ODI cricket to date.
