Former Pakistan bowler Saqlain Mushtaq has been one of the most sought after bowlers in the world cricket. He has been pretty insturmental in Pakistan successful runs in the name. Saqlain etched his name in the record books after becoming only the second bowler to claim a second ODI hattrick 21 years ago.
Mushtaq scalped the hattrick against Zimbabwe during the World Cup in 1999. He bagged the wickets of Henry Olonga , Adam Huckle and Pommie Mbangwa.
Batting first Pakistan had scored 271/9 in 50 overs after Saeed Anwar scored 103 for the side at The Oval.
Zimbabwe in reply never looked in control and kept losing wickets at regular intervals only to wrap the innings at 123. Abdul Razzaq and Saqlain picked up three wickets apiece while Shoaib Akhtar and Azhar Mahmood picked a couple of wickets each.
Pakistan eventually ended as runners-up in the tournament after losing to Australia in the final. This was the second instance where Pakistan had registered a place in a World Cup final. They had previously won it in the 1992 edition under Imran Khan.
