India captain Virat Kohli achieved another feat during India’s match against Pakistan as he went on to become the fastest batsman to score 11000 ODI runs.
Kohli who is leading India for the first in the World Cup grabbed the milestone during the course of his half-century in Manchester. The right-handed batsman took 222 innings to do so.
Virat’s consistency is just ridiculous. The ultimate yard stick for batting greatness.????????#ViratKohli— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) June 16, 2019
He now leads Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting in the tally. Tendulkar achieved the milestone in 276 innings while Ponting did so in 286.
India have been one of the unbeaten teams in this tournament so far. They defeated South Africa and Australia respectively while their clash against New Zealand was washed out due to rain.
During India vs Pakistan, once again rain played a spoilsport and the match was interrupted in the 47th over. India have a 100% win record against Pakistan in World Cup as they lead the arch-rivals 6-0.
